چکیده

Radiofrequency (RF) coils are used to transmit and receive signals in magnetic resonance (MR) systems. Optimized RF coil design has take into account strategies maximize the performance by choosing sizes geometry for achieving best signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In particular, conductor radiative loss contributions strongly affect SNR value, with first mainly playing a role low-field MR systems especially, while second could be dominant mechanism high-frequency tuned coils. This paper investigates accuracy of finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method separately estimating contributions. Comparison finite element (FEM) analysis workbench measurements performed on home-built prototype permitted us validate simulation results. Moreover, this research, jointly literature data sample-induced losses estimation, demonstrates that an FDTD-based solver permits providing model various complicated geometries.

Surface impedance modeling using the finite-difference time-domain method

The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique has been used to model the one-dimensional (1-D) surface impedance of a lossy earth plane having discontinuities in two and three dimensions. Using a horizontal magnetic field aperture source located five cells from an absorbing boundary and 35 cells above the lossy earth plane, the surface impedance was accurately modeled at a distance of 0=50...

Static Coil Design Considerations for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging

One of the main challenges in developing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems is to create a static coil that needs to generate magnetic field density along with the characteristics of optimal homogeneity and magnitude size. To do this, two N42 Block PMs are used and the iron core is designed and optimized in accordance with the dimensions of PM pieces using ANSYS Maxwell software. Then, al...

A Study of Electromagnetic Radiation from Monopole Antennas on Spherical-Lossy Earth Using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method

Radiation from monopole antennas on spherical-lossy earth is analyzed by the finitedifference time-domain (FDTD) method in spherical coordinates. A novel generalized perfectly matched layer (PML) has been developed for the truncation of the lossy soil. For having an accurate modeling with less memory requirements, an efficient "non-uniform" mesh generation scheme is used. Also in each time step...
